The Avian Theme Continues
I Can't Believe I Forgot This
Here's what becomes of Bananas Gone Bad (http://uponmeetingalice.blogspot.com/2009/10/bananas-gone-bad.html) after a year goes by.
I don't have to be reminded too often what a horrible awful person I am. :P
Do You Think It Means Something?
So, to start this story, I must mention that I recently obtained employment after a somewhat short (they tell me 2 months is short in this economy....it seemed pretty long to me) break that was not of my choosing. I now find myself driving 40 miles from home to Alpharetta, GA to go to work. I started the new job the Monday before Thanksgiving. Talk about having something to be thankful for!
So Wednesday afternoon (the day before Thanksgiving) I drive from the sticks of Georgia (where I live) to Alpharetta (the big city). It was an uneventful, albeit long, drive. As I'm pulling into the parking lot, I notice that there's someone behind me. Several someones. When I get out of the car, I identify it as actually 3 someones of the wild and gobbling variety. I'm told their tempers are not to be triffled with. I want to know now if I should be concerned that I was being stalked by wild turkeys in the city and on the day before Thanksgiving, no less. Wonderland never ceases to puzzle me.

I Have Become Fearful
There's been an oil spill disaster, but not the one you think. Okay, folx this is just plain scary. The picture below is of the sidewalk from the parking lot to the back door where I work. Monday morning, (presumably) someone from the shop crew that comes in at like 6:00 am had gotten breakfast from Burger King including hash rounds. Apparently, some of those hash rounds spilled on the sidewalk on the trip in from the parking lot. Keeping that in mind, this is what the sidewalk looked like TODAY (being Thursday of the same week) after lunch. The oil slick is STILL there. If it does that to a sidewalk, what does it do to the internal workings of the human body???????

New Toy Acquired in July
As mentioned in this post, I attended the Beginning Motorcycle Safety course and got my motorcycle license. Next logical step is to get a motorcycle. DH had been shopping around for something and finally found me a bike that we purchased on July 4. It is a 1993 Honda CB250 Nighthawk. It's a cute little thing, isn't it?
I've been riding it around some in our subdivision and have even ventured to the subdivision across from ours, which has meant getting out on the road that our subdivision is off of. I'm not great at it yet, but I'm improving!

A Passion Inspired (Possibly?)
My youngest child A fits in my motorcycle gear, as shown in the first picture. So we let her go for a ride on the back of DH's bike. I wouldn't let her ride with just anyone, especially on a bike like "Secret". She loved it. DH said she was a really good passenger and listened well to his instructions. She had a lot of fun and didn't even mind the fact that we made her wear all the gear (we wear it ourselves so she has a good example on that one....we all find that we are fond of our skin and head and eyes and such).
