Strawberry Fields Forever

Friday, May 1, my daughter K, her friend K, and I went strawberry picking at the Washington Farms strawberry patch. It was a lot of fun. I think we may try to go back at least once more during the season. When I asked, they told me they expected the picking season to go at least to the end of May. You can see from the above pictures how pretty the strawberries are. They are also very tasty! If you are local and want to go, the cost is $10 per gallon bucket and $1 if you buy their bucket. You must pick in their buckets but you can bring something to transfer the berries to after you're done picking. As it was, we went to Wal-Mart afterward to do some shopping and picked up a few extra handle bags to set the buckets in. They were so full that the strawberries were rolling around the back of the MINI. The below pictures show our haul. Three gallons. Oh, and they say blueberries in June!!
